Joint Replacement

Joint replacement surgery entails the complete replacement of a severely diseased joint (most commonly the hip, knee, or shoulder) with an artificial implant. This procedure typically becomes necessary when significant cartilage loss occurs in the joint. This causes bone-on-bone friction, which can in turn result in severe restriction of motion and overbearing pain. Cartilage loss is often the result of osteoarthritis—wear and tear on the joints that develops over a lifetime of daily use. In cases where a total joint replacement is unnecessary, more often in younger patients, the joint may be resurfaced with metal and/or a synthetic material to improve its performance and reduce or eliminate pain.
At Tri-County Orthopedics’ Joint Replacement Center, our internationally trained surgeons are experienced in joint replacement and hip resurfacing. In fact, we have performed more hip resurfacings than any other center in New Jersey. At our Joint Replacement Center, recent advancements in joint replacement surgery have allowed our surgeons to provide better outcomes and quicker recovery times. Examples of these advancements and techniques include more durable implants, less invasive surgical techniques, and enhanced implant designs. Regardless of your individual situation, our joint replacement specialists are dedicated to restoring your health and getting you back to your daily activities as quickly and safely as possible.
