Dr. Alena Polesin is a graduate of The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She completed residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at New York Presbyterian -The University of Columbia and Cornell, where she served as a Chief Resident and continues to teach as an Assistant Professor of Rehabilitation Medicine.
She is a board certified physiatrist, who specializes in rehabilitation of acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders, aiming to maximize function and quality of life. She has a particular interest in management of the disorders of the spine, electrodiagnostic medicine, as well as image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic injections. She is an active member of several scientific organizations, including the International Spinal Intervention Society, the Physiatric Association for Sports, Spine and Occupational Rehabilitation and the North American Spine Society.
