Dr. Michael I. Goldberger, foot and ankle surgeon and Dr. Edward M. Decter, sports medicine surgeon, at Tri-County Orthopedics, are now providing specialized foot, ankle and sports medicine care at a new clinic location in Livingston. After graduating from Emory University, Dr. Goldberger received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College with honors in orthopedics. After completing his orthopedic residency, Dr. Goldberger spent a year in fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He specializes in the treatment of ligament and tendon disorders in the ankle, including the Achilles tendon, as well as fracture care, foot and ankle reconstruction and the treatment of conditions including hallux valgus, ankle arthritis and flat foot.
As a knee, shoulder, and sports medicine specialist, Dr. Decter has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of sports injuries and is highly skilled in performing reconstructive surgeries of the knee and shoulder. Dr. Decter earned his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Neb., in 1970. He completed his internship at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa., and his orthopaedic surgery residency at the Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopaedic Institute in New York, N.Y., thereafter.
