  • “I had a total hip replacement. It was a totally wonderful experience. Everyone concerned was professional.”

  • “Dr. Lombardi performed anterior bi-lateral hip replacement on me just four days ago. I am enthused to report I was walking the day of my surgery and without any mechanical aids just two days after the surgery. To say I am pleased with everyone involved in the process would be a tremendous understatement. My sincerest thanks to Dr. Lombardi and the entire staff at Tri-County Orthopedics for changing my life! -- Adam S.”

  • “From the start in the office prior to the operation every body was so nice and caring. Our visit with Dr. Lombardi was very educational with my problem. He made me feel very comfortable and made me very at ease. There was no question Dr. Lombardi was the one I wanted to do the operation. All the staff we encountered were very knowledgeable and also made me feel very much at ease. I was very surprised that the day after the complete hip replacement I was released and went home. The office did all the arrangements for home nursing service and therapy. I would recommend Tri-County Orthopedics to any one who would need their services. -- Kathleen H.”

  • “My entire experience, from diagnosis to post-op appointment, was nothing short of amazing. It was a 'no fear' situation all the way. Everyone I dealt with was wonderful. I would recommend Tri-County Orthopedics to anyone!!”

  • “After initial failed hip surgery due to poor pin placement (by another doctor at another hospital) and other subsequent failed stop-gap measures (by other doctors), Dr. Lombardi told my 88-year-old mother that it was time to do this job right. He removed the old hardware and did a complete hip reconstruction. My mother fully recovered from the surgery with a well-healed incision and was walking again for the first time in 5 years. Dr. Lombardi said he could fix her hip and he did. His confidence in his ability and appreciation for quality of life for my mother was second to none. I can't recommend him enough—he is the best. --Jack Q.”

  • “A wonderful first experience! I was quite nervous to visit another orthopedist, but Dr. Lombardi was extremely informative, understood me as a patient and my concerns, and arrested my fears. If and when the surgery takes place, I believe I will be in the proper hands and my problems will be resolved. Thank you!”
    – Linda W.
  • “I was treated by a few different doctors for the excruciating pain in my groin. I had four injections in my spine, went to see Dr. Lombardi and he diagnosed my hip problem, and had hip replacement surgery. Two months later I was back teaching ballroom dance! It is hard to put into words the joy I feel now that I can move pain free!  The entire staff is wonderful especially Dr. Oliver Garcia. I would highly recommend this group - they know their stuff!!!!!”
    – Paula M.
  • “I was having severe pain in my hip that was replaced one year earlier. I went to Dr. Lombardi for a second opinion because the doctor I used for the original surgery recommended that I go for revision surgery. Dr. Lombardi examined me and recommended a injection in my bursar sack before we talk about surgery. I have been doing well since about a year and a half later. I'm thankful I decided to see Dr. Lombardi.”
    – Tom T.
  • “They were very professional and very efficient.  The staff was fantastic.  I went into the pre-screening exam wondering what to expect on surgery day, and they eased my anxiety.”
    – Dan M.
  • “There is only one word to describe my experience with Tri-County Orthopedics and that word is WONDERFUL. Dr. Paul Lombardi and his staff put me at ease immediately with my condition and the scheduling of my surgery. I had anterior bi-lateral hip surgery, which was successful and practically pain free. Dr. Lombardi and his assistant Oliver were at the hospital everyday to check on my status and answer all my questions with such care and concern. They made me feel like I was a VIP. (More doctors should take lessons from him). I don't know any of Dr. Lombardi's partners but, if they are anything like him, they are great too.  Thank you, thank you and thank you to an awesome doctor and his dedicated staff. They made sure I had my surgery stress free. They left me with the knowledge that I could call them and they were there for me all the time. A special extra thank you to Jeanette in scheduling and Shakina in prescriptions.”
    – Michele Y.
  • “I had hip replacement surgery last June. Dr. Lombardi explained that since I was having an anterior approach, my recovery would not be that bad. He was right. I was walking within one week of the surgery.”
    – Carol M.
  • “I do not have the words to describe what a nice human being Dr. Paul Lombardi is.  Each and every meeting with him was amazing and re-assuring. Just seeing him would put my mind at ease. He had such a calming effect that I could just tell I will be fine with his care. I had double knee surgery last year and it has changed my life for the better. I kept putting off the surgery for a long time until I met him. Just seeing how sure he was about everything he told me, all my fears vanished. I cannot thank Dr. Lombardi enough. He is the best, and what a nice, kind doctor with a human touch.”
    – Malti P.
  • “My experience with Dr. Lombardi and Tri - County Orthopedics can only be described as excellent in every way.  I'm a 77 year old man who has had knee problems since childhood, compounded by trying to be a high school and semi-pro football hero injuring both knees many times. I had procedures on both knees over the years and tried all of the treatments available including synvisc and diet supplements, which worked fairly well for me. Finally, the crunching and creaking every time I bent over and doing stairs one-step at a time, got to be too much. When they started to be unstable, especially on the stairs, I said it’s either the knees or risk falling down the stairs and doing hips as well as knees or worse. Several friends had hips done by the group and all said their treatment and recovery were excellent.  Because of my age, Dr. Lombardi said he would not do both knees at the same time. So one was done last April and the other in August. Both experiences were more than satisfactory. Replacement Monday morning, walking with walker around nurse’s station several times on Tuesday, stairs with crutches on Wednesday, and home on Thursday afternoon. Painless in both cases. After nerve block and intravenous medication in the hospital, the strongest pain medication I took was a couple of Tylenol. Experience with hospital nurses, staff, food, and a private room etc., superior.  At home, I had visits from nurse three times and therapist six times and was released to out patient therapy. Driving the second week and six weeks of therapy and done.  Seven months later, I can easily walk my mile everyday, do steps like I did twenty years ago, and have no excuse to not do my yard work or my little repairs around the house. I did take the knee bending machine and the therapy exercises seriously and did the required reps religiously, in the hospital, at home and in out patient therapy.  I am very appreciative of Dr. Lombardi's skills and ability as well as the treatment and kindness shown by Tri-County Orthopedics and Morristown Medical Center.”

  • “I am a serious athlete and compete in biking, skiing, racquetball, skydiving, scuba diving, and golf. My hip went bad in a span of 2 months. I was very nervous that my sports were done. I am also a contractor and climb ladders all day long. I also thought that my business could be finished. Dr. Paul Lombardi told me that I would be 100% in a short time. The first 2 days after surgery were hard and I needed a cane to get around. I woke up on day 3 and felt much better. I got on my bike and went off for a 20-mile bike ride with no problem. I was able to skydive in 5 weeks with no problem and was playing racquetball in 6 weeks. It is a miracle that I am back to my old self and don't even think about my hip anymore. Dr. Lombardi did a great job on my hip and my confidence in my ability to continue with my life. I am also 70 years old, so it is never too late to get your life back.”
    – Larry T.
  • “I had a full knee replacement on December 19th. From the time I had my pre-op tests and stayed to listen to the nurse and physical therapist, all was in detail of what I would expect. The day of surgery was great and was taken on time. Seems hard to believe, but it was only an hour like they told me. The care at Morristown Memorial was exceptional. The nursing staff and physical therapy staff was pleasant, explaining everything they were going to do. It's been six months. I have been able to play golf again and do things I couldn't do with the pain I had before this surgery.  Dr. Lombardi and his associate also were exceptional.”

  • “Dr. Lombardi replaced my left hip 14 months ago. I was operated on a Tuesday at noon and was in my room by 2:00 p.m. that afternoon. I was released from the hospital less then 24 hours later. I was instructed to use a cane for one week, and advised to return for a check up. After the check up, Dr. Lombardi told me to throw the cane away. Since the operation, I have been performing my normally activities, including working out at the gym 4-5 times per week. I am a 67-year-old male and my hip feels great. Good luck to those considering a hip replacement. Dr. Lombardi is great to deal with, and is great at what he does.”

  • “I had a right and left hip replacement done and could not have asked for a better doctor.”

  • “I had a meniscus repair in April of 2013. I was never a runner, but had the interest. I was able to start running in November of 2013 and entered a January 5k race.  My first race ever. Since then, I have competed in 17 races over 17 months and the streak continues! I have done 5ks, 10ks, a 1/2 marathon relay ,and a triathalon. My 18th race will be a sprint triathlon in June of 2015. Thank you, Dr. Lombardi! Did I mention that I am 54 years young!”

  • “I was seeing another doctor for treatment for arthritis in both of my knees. The doctor told me that eventually I would need surgery on my knees. In the mean time, he would give me cortisone shots and a series of gel shots to relieve the pain. In the spring of 2013, I decided that due to increased pain, it was time to have the knee surgery. The problem was that the surgery on my right knee, according to my doctor, was going to have to be at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville. I really wanted to be treated at Morristown Medical Center. I was going to Sportscare for physical therapy and they recommended that I see Dr. Lombardi. He asked me why I needed to see him and I explained my story. Dr. Lombardi had me walk for him, and upon doing so. He suggested that he wanted to x-ray my hips!!! My other doctor had NEVER even mentioned ANYTHING about my hips. Dr. Lombardi showed me the x-rays and my right hip was bone-on-bone. He went on to explain that I needed hip surgery and NOT knee surgery. When I asked him, What about my knee pain? He explained that after my hip surgery, my knee pain would be GONE!!! Dr. Lombardi was able to schedule my right hip replacement in August 2013. The day after the surgery, I woke to NO knee pain and was able to return to work in one month!”

  • “I came to Tri-County Orthopedics and met Dr. Lombardi in March of 2014. At that time, I was unable to sit, stand, lie down, sleep, or go up or down stairs. My pain level was off the charts due to severe arthritis in my left hip. I had surgery on April 15th, and was home on April 17th. The surgical procedure and post-op hospital stay could not have been better. My level of pain was minimal. They had me up and walking the next day, and showed me how to get around during my recuperation period. I started outpatient physical therapy 3 weeks after surgery, and as of this writing, it has been 3 months since surgery. I have gotten my life almost completely back. My only regret is that I didn't get the surgery done a year earlier. I now have an appreciation for life that I didn't have before. I don't take it for granted, and all the little things that I never gave much thought to before, mean so much to me now. Many thanks to all the great folks at Morristown Medical Center, Dr. Lombardi, Oliver, and the staff at Tri-County Orthopedics, as well as Ken and staff at physical therapy. I also want to thank my wife Susan, who made this possible and took great care of me while I was in need.”

  • “I put off bilateral knee replacement surgery for many years. Finally, barely able to walk, I had no choice but to have my knees replaced. After much research, I asked two of my doctors if they had any suggestions. Without hesitation, each recommended Dr. Lombardi. I made the appointment that day. Dr. Lombardi has an outstanding resume and at Tri-county Orthopedics, a good reputation. Dr. Lombardi reviewed the medical information and determined that a bilateral knee replacement was called for. As I mentioned the upcoming surgery to friends and neighbors, I was amazed by the number of nurses and former patients who stressed Dr. Lombardi was the only doctor to consider. On April 27th, the surgery went forward as planned at Morristown Hospital. That hospital has a high rating for knee surgery and a special emphasis on eliminating infections. The staff, especially nursing staff, were superior. They were friendly and knowledgeable. The night staff was as professional and concerned as the day staff. Dr. Lombardi immediately met with my family after the surgery. Furthermore, Dr. Lombardi and his assistant, Oliver, were sure to visit me that day and each day I was in the hospital. I came to the understanding that he was communicating with the therapist and nurse regarding post surgery treatment. Wherein the first day, they leaned toward a few days at in-house therapy. My steady progress was encouraging and the team decided I could go home directly from my hospital stay. I have had never heard of nurses, therapists, or doctors communicating about a patient's health. I strongly recommend Dr. Lombardi. From the moment I came out of surgery, I could tell Dr. Lombardi had done an astounding job. I seldom experienced the intense pain so many knee patients have experienced. The strong pain medication I had was seldom utilized. Within a week, I was using a cane and now less than five weeks from surgery, I can walk nearly an hour using a walking stick for confidence not support. During my first therapy evaluation, the therapist was amazed at my status. And yes, the therapist ask for the name of the surgeon for a family member. Bilateral knee surgery is not something to enter without a great deal of thought. If you do decide to take this step, Dr. Lombardi 's office should be one of the first phone calls you make.”

  • “I recently had anterior approach hip replacement surgery and have only positive comments. Since this was the first time I had surgery, I was, of course, very apprehensive. Starting with my first appointment with Dr. Paul Lombardi, I immediately felt much calmer about the surgery. Dr. Lombardi spent time with me explaining the surgery and answering all my questions. From that point on, everything went smoothly, from the scheduling of the surgery with Jeannette (she is awesome), to my two follow-up appointments after surgery. Oliver Garcia is Dr. Lombardi's PA, and he is a pleasure to deal with. Very knowledgeable and patient. All my dealings with the Tri County staff have been great...everyone was responsive, customer focused and professional. I never had to wait longer than 15 minutes in the waiting area. In terms of the actual surgery, the anterior approach is the way to go. I was walking with a walker a few hours after surgery and went home the next day using a cane. I was able to walk without a cane in less than a week. The pain from the surgery was minimal and very bearable. It has now been six weeks since the surgery and I am almost !00%. I highly recommend Dr. Lombardi and Tri County Orthopedics.”

  • “I was operated on today, 8/11/15, and was out of surgery around 3ish in the afternoon. I walked the hall at around 10 this evening with the walker. Honestly, I probably could have walked without it, but I was afraid to try since I was on meds. Let me tell everyone out there that this doctor and his team are Heaven sent! No lie. I'm 59 and in pretty good shape. The only other surgery I had was for a deviated septum years ago, so needless to say, I was scared out of my mind. I was apprehensive the whole nine yards. I mean, this is major surgery. Until now, I know I need to recover slowly do things, build up my strength, etc. Now I have my confidence back and feel much younger inside. I hope and continue to pray to the Lord for a speedy recovery, as I know he worked through the doctors hands. I have a wonderful wife and 4 beautiful adult children who are also in my corner. Please don't be afraid and don't deal with the pain, as it's not worth it. We were all born in a fantastic time medically in history. So, take advantage of the medical marvels around you. I will never be afraid again of any procedure. Of course, I hope to never have to have one, but if I did, I would go for it.”

  • “Dr. Lombardi and his staff made my anterior hip replacement far less traumatic than I expected. Minimal discomfort allowed me to stand and walk with walker the same day. They kept me aware of what I could expect and I doubt the experience could be any better than what they provided. At the 10 day mark I was able to walk without crutches or cane at his office. Not to minimize the scope of this surgery but I had more pain during wisdom teeth extraction years ago. The healing process continues after 4 weeks with most of the swelling gone and exercising on a stationary bike keeps the joint moving freely. I have talked to others who did not have the anterior method used and the recovery was far slower. I recommend Dr. Lombardi.”
