The following are reviews from patients of Dr. Hunt
  • ““Dr. Hunt is a talented and amazing professional. A fall onto my deck at home resulted in severe damage to my right shoulder. The ER at Morristown recommended Dr. Hunt as on of the best doctors available and he performed the surgery necessary to repair the extensive damage. Dr. Hunt was extremely confident, comforting, and encouraging that I would have a good outcome. Eight weeks later, the physical therapists tell me of my remarkable progress but I give credit and thanks to Dr. Hunt for the difficult and amazing work he performed in the OR. Dr. Hunt is definitely a top professional in his field.” -- Steve M.”

  • “For the past four months I have had fairly consistent pain in my right elbow, which had gradually worsened. The pain, discomfort, and weakness eventually migrated to my wrist and upper arm. I understood the discomfort when I was working or otherwise active, but lately I had doubts of extreme pain even when at rest. I work in the landscape/gardening business and with the busy spring season approaching I knew I had to get some relief. Dr. Hunt diagnosed the injury as tennis elbow and based on the extent of the discomfort suggested a cortisone injection. I was able to lift things that I would not have attempted previously. I am not ten days post injection and giddy with relief. Many thanks to Dr. Hunt. -- Margaret C.”

  • “I am from the old school, where we have complete trust in our doctor, and listen to what ever they say. Dr. Hunt is caring and expertise in his field made me regret that I did not do knee replacement five years ago. No one will ever be able to convince me that there is a more caring or better surgeon then my Dr. Hunt.”

  • “I saw Dr. Hunt because of a labral tear in my hip. At my first appointment, I did have to wait awhile to be seen. Dr. Hunt was apologetic and did not rush my appointment. We went over my options and my husband, and I decided surgery would be my best option. Two weeks later, I had my surgery and Dr. Hunt was caring and made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Hunt saw me in recovery and said surgery went well and that he would see me the next day at my post-op visit. Dr. Hunt is a very caring and in my opinion excellent doctor. I would recommend him to everyone who has orthopedic issues. I am 12-days post op today and feeling stronger everyday. --Hope L.”

  • “Everything was handled in a very professional and timely fashion. The reception team was very friendly, courteous, and professional. Dr. Hunt was very nice. I only waited a few minutes after my X-rays were taken. He explained everything well and clearly, including a review of my X-rays. I would recommend Dr. Hunt to anyone. I would not hesitate to see him again if needed.”

  • “Dr. Hunt is the epitome of professionalism. He is truly one of the best in the business and a credit to the profession. After 25 years of intense athletic activity, both of my hops were in bad shape resulting from impingement and labral tears. Over the course of a year, Dr. Hunt performed two successful surgeries allowing me to resume my professional career as the Chief Israeli Krav Maga U.S. instructor. Dr. Hunt, an athlete himself, provides invaluable to support and facilitate the recovery process.”

  • “My son, Ryan, injured his elbow playing baseball this summer. Since he has been previously treated by Dr. Hunt for other injuries incurred in the past (including the same elbow), I naturally decided it was best to bring him back to the doctor who knows him best. As always, Dr. Hunt was diligent in his analysis, accurate in his assessment of the injury, and professional with his treatment. Beyond just being an orthopedic doctor, he also has developed a connection (I'll call it a relationship) with both me and my son that makes this unpleasant situation much better by coming to Dr. Hunt. He recommended Ryan go for an arthrogram, which as he suspected, showed a slight tear in a ligament in his elbow. Once he got the results, he explained the various options available to get Ryan on the road to recovery. I am glad to say that he is progressing well so far.”

  • “The best. There is no better, Period !!!!! This past winter, I had taken a fall on the ice and had dislocated my shoulder. My general physician referred me to Tri-County Orthopedics. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by a very professional staff, which was just amazing from the start. I was introduced to Dr. Stephen A. Hunt. From the start, he made me feel very comfortable and went over everything that was wrong. Dr. Hunt was able to relocate my shoulder. I was then advised that it would be in my best interest to have a MRI. After having my MRI, I was able to sit with Dr. Hunt. He went over everything, being very thorough and explaining to me, in detail, what was wrong with my shoulder do to the accident I had. I was advised that I could have arthroscopic surgery to repair the damage and tighten up my shoulder. Dr. Hunt told me that it would be up to me and if I had wanted, I could try physical therapy to see how it would go. I did not feel any pressure from him trying to push the surgery on me. Dr. Hunt was great. He explained the surgery from start to finish. I was told what he thought the outcome would be and what possible problems I could have. Being that I am an avid runner and weightlifter, I had many concerns on what I would be able to do and when I would be able to get back to my life. Dr. Hunt took the time to go into detail on every single question I had. I had my surgery this past March. From the second I was at the surgical center, I was greeted and taken care by the best staff. Dr. Hunt came in and met with me again before I was taken into surgery. He wanted to know if I had any last minute questions. My surgery went very well. When I was all finished, Dr. Hunt was there to tell me everything went well and looked very good. That night, when I was home resting, Dr. Hunt called me to see how I was feeling and wanted to know if I had any questions for him to answer. My first follow-up visit the next day was great again. Dr. Hunt told me how the surgery went and went over everything with me again on what the recovery process would be. I was advised on what I could and could not do. I am now in my last stage. I have one last follow-up visit this week. What I will say is thanks to Dr. Hunt. I am about 99% back to living my normal life. I feel as if I never had the accident or surgery. I have no pain and my range of motion is back. I can't thank him and his staff enough for giving me my life back. There is no better from start to finish. Dr. Hunt is more than a doctor. He is a wonderful person who is always going above and beyond for his patients. I cannot say enough good things about him. He is just truly amazing and dedicated. I wish that you please take the time to share this with him.”

  • “Our son had a shoulder that was always popping out from a motocross injury and making him unable to continue the sport he loves.  We saw a doctor that told us he would have to put a brace on and live with it because both physical therapy and surgery wouldn't help. My husband and I thought that was rather strange and decided it was time to find another doctor. We found Dr. Hunt. From the first visit, we knew we had found the right doctor for our son. He explained the mechanism of the injury. He understood the mechanics of our son’s sport and he gave us options.  We left that appointment deciding to finish the physical therapy that the other doctor started. Yes, the doctor that said it wouldn't help had him in physical therapy! At the end of physical therapy, we were back for our follow up with Dr. Hunt. Our son was not benefitting from the physical therapy and decided, after discussing everything with Dr. Hunt, that he wanted to proceed with surgery to correct the instability. We are now a month and a week out of surgery. Our son told Dr. Hunt at his post-op that his shoulder feels the best that it ever has! He is using his arm in normal, light, daily activity and sleeping without it popping out. Physical therapy will continue through the end of September. Adam is looking forward to returning to motocross in the fall, something he didn't think he would be able to go back to!  Thank you Dr. Hunt!”

  • “I had a torn rotator cuff in my right shoulder, from over 25 years of abusing it playing softball. I took up triathlon in 2010, but the torn rotator cuff and eventually was in desperate need of repair. I had about a 99% tear, literally hanging on by a thread.” Dr. Hunt patched me up in January of 2012, and after following his instructions to a tee with physical therapy, I was back to swimming 4 months later. I completed a half-ironman triathlon 7 months post-surgery. After 18 months post surgery, I completed an Ironman in July 2013, which includes a 2.4-mile swim, 112 miles of biking, and a 26.2-mile run. Thank you Dr. Hunt for everything you have done for me, for never even thinking/suggesting I give up the active lifestyle I love, but instead working with me to get me back stronger than ever!”

  • “I have to start by saying that in my 15 years of going threw cancer and other issues in my life, I have not had the best treatment by medical professionals until now. Dr. Hunt is the most compassionate doctor that I have come across in a long time. I had surgery on the 26th of March for my hip, and he made me feel so comfortable. He is not just a doctor, he is a human with a caring heart. I had a lot of issues with myself, dealing with depression and feeling lost, not trusting doctors or nursing staff, but thanks to Dr. Hunt, I feel so much better, and I now know I am going to have my life back again, thanks to his hard work with me. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you have done. I also have to say thank you to Gary, Dr. Hunt's PA. He is the most compassionate person to deal with as well. I confided in Gary what I went threw these past 15 years and he listened and took action not to let anything happen to me like it did in the past, so I am truly blessed to have both Dr. Hunt and Gary taking care of me.”

  • “I suffered from nasty pain in my left knee, which grew worse over the years. One doctor treated it with topical ointment. The next doctor performed arthroscopic surgery. Neither did any good, and my pain and disability grew. Last fall, on the recommendation of a friend, I made an appointment to see Dr. Stephen Hunt. He tested the range of motion and strength of my knees and x-rayed them. He showed me that the left knee was actually in better condition than the right one, leading him to believe that the problem stemmed from my left hip. I argued that it was my knee that hurt, not the hip. He said that pain follows different routes, and proceeded to x-ray both hips. There it was, clear even to me ,that he was correct. He was the only physician I went to who had the intellect, training, and experience to find the real source of my knee problem. Dr. Hunt surgically inserted my new hip. In January, the knee pain was gone, and I am grateful to have my life returned to me by this fine physician.”

  • “Doctor Hunt has operated on both my right (2008) and left (2014) shoulders for rotator cuff and other repairs. In both cases, the results have been outstanding, and the rehabilitation experience has been consistent with the expectation he set.”

  • “My son has already had shoulder surgery for chronic instability and labral repair on his left shoulder 2 years ago. Well, lo and behold he injured his right shoulder and was suffering the same symptoms as the left shoulder. Saw Dr. Hunt right away, had an MRI and surgery was scheduled. Once again the outcome was incredible. He is back to normal function in 3 months, actually better than what his shoulder would consider normal! We will never see another Doctor for our Orthopedic needs. Every aspect of the injury and recovery have been awesome. The staff is equally as wonderful and accommodating and his new assistant, Gary, is just a wonderful. I highly recommend Dr. Hunt, we felt assured that everything would be okay and it was....twice!”
