Dr. Andrew Willis of Tri-County Orthopedics has been named a Favorite Kids’ Doc in New Jersey Family magazine for the fourth year in a row. Dr. Willis was one of only two doctors chosen in the category of orthopedic surgery and also one of two doctors chosen in the category of sports medicine.
New Jersey Family’s Favorite Kids' Docs list is based on an annual survey of parents who nominate doctors who go above and beyond for their children. Dr. Willis was one of the 20 orthopedic specialists who made the list for 2019.
Dual-fellowship-trained hand, upper extremity, and sports medicine surgeon Andrew A. Willis, M.D., was named in Castle Connolly’s listing of top doctors for the New York metro area for 2020. This is Dr. Willis’ second time receiving the honor.
Anterior hip replacement surgery, or anterior total hip arthroplasty, has changed the way orthopedic surgeons perform hip replacements. This procedure requires the surgeon to access the joint from the front of the hip, or the anterior, instead of from the side (lateral) or rear (posterior).
One of New Jersey’s longest established top doctors, Dr. Paul Lombardi of Tri-County Orthopedics, was recently recognized as a Jersey Choice Top Doctor in New Jersey Monthly magazine. This marks Dr. Lombardi’s 14th consecutive year in earning this distinction. When a 35-year-old motorist got in an accident early this year and had complications in his hip after treatment, he found the ambitious orthopedic surgeon Truong Viet Thong, M.D., in Ho Chi Minh City. Three weeks after Dr. Thong’s patient underwent a new surgery, Dr. Thong says, “he felt great and went back to his normal life.”
Dr. Aaron Forbes recently had a trauma patient in need of a distal femoral replacement. Using the latest implant technology and having been able to treat the patient’s periprosthetic fracture during the COVID-19 restrictions, Dr. Forbes was recognized by the orthopedic device company DePuy Synthes.
