After more than 15 years of surgeries and recoveries, I can honestly say that my experience with Tri-County Orthopedics — specifically with Dr. Montgomery and PA Cameron Lyons — has been the best surgical experience I’ve ever had.
To put that into perspective, I’ve undergone multiple major back surgeries that unfortunately left me with permanent nerve damage and an aspiring disease as a result. Beyond that, I’ve also had double knee surgeries, reconstructive hand surgery, and now this recent shoulder procedure. After everything I’ve been through medically, I came into this surgery with real concerns and hesitation. I knew what it meant to fight just to regain some sense of normalcy.

As a licensed New York fly fishing guide and professional fly tyer, my arms and shoulders are not just important, they are my livelihood. I spend countless hours tying flies, providing casting instruction and casting a fly rod on the water. Before surgery, one of my biggest fears was that I might never return to that lifestyle the way I once knew it.
Today, I am back on the water completely pain-free.
Not only am I casting again, but I honestly have more strength and better range of motion than I did before surgery. To be able to return to the river without pain, doing something that genuinely brings peace and meaning to my life, is something I can’t fully put into words. Being on the water has always been where I find clarity, and being able to continue sharing that experience with others means everything to me.
