Walking Tour ot Portugal

This is my second replacement with Dr. Lombardi. I had the left hip successfully replaced 3 years ago. Having a continuous pain of 4-5 and spikes of 7-8 periodically, I made the decision to have the right hip done now as my health is good, who knows what it will be in 5 years. Speaking with Dr. Lombardi, my critical criteria was to be recovered sufficiently to enjoy a walking tour planned for mid-September of Portugal. Surgery was scheduled for mid-July; I was assured that my tour participation would be more enjoyable. I am a diligent person and followed the MYMOBILITY plan and exercised as prescribed. Additionally, once cleared by the surgical team, I went back to the gym 3-4 days a week, using the stationary bicycle, treadmill and upper body strength training to ensure my continuous improvement for the trip. On the off days, i walked my neighborhood which has several elevation changes. I strived for 12k steps a day, not continuously but over the course of the day. Suffice it to say, continuous efforts with the rehabilitation worked. I completed the Portugal tour; (see the picture) I'm the person with the maroon shirt. Yes, there was pain, yes there were difficult movements to be compensated for, but with a continued concerted effort one can quickly recover and enjoy movement to its fullest!
