My Comeback Story: Frank P.

Tri-county Fixes a Bad Decision

After many years of decreasing mobility and increasing pain, I decided to have a full knee replacement. (This was not done at Tri-County.) The procedure immobilized me for several weeks and required regular narcotic pain medication. After 6 months of very painful physical therapy, I only achieved minor improvement in flexibility. I visited Dr Dundon who quickly determined that my implant was mis-positioned and advised a revision to replace and better position the implant. After the revision, I was almost immediately mobile and used far less pain medication than after the first surgery.
My physical therapy showed immediate improvement. After 3 months of physical therapy, I showed much greater improvement than 6 months of PT after my initial surgery.
At 6 month after my revision surgery, I am back at 30 minutes on the elliptical machine and showing increasing improvement in my weight training. At about the same time, I went to Berlin to cheer my daughter at the Berlin Marathon. After 5 days of sight-seeing and tracking my daughter along the race course, I had easily walked over 26 miles myself. Being more mobile helps me keep up with my active grand-daughter.
