Dr. Decter provides medical coverage for the World Cup
Tri-County Orthopedics’ Dr. Edward M. Decter, sports medicine specialist and orthopedic surgeon, is traveling to New Zealand to provide medical coverage to the Under 20 USA Soccer Team during the World Cup as the Official Team Physician for the team.
“Working with the athletes at the World Cup is always a rewarding experience. I am honored to be able to travel with and care for this talented and dedicated group of athletes,” says Edward M. Decter, M.D., F.A.C.S.
In the role of team physician, Dr. Decter will primarily provide orthopedic care for the athletes, but will also provide any other medical care that may be needed. Dr. Decter has been team physician for the Under 20 USA Soccer Team for nearly four years and has worked with soccer athletes and professionals for nearly 10 years prior.
The Under 20 USA Soccer Team’s first game will be played on Saturday, May 30, against Myanmar, the second game, on June 2, will be played against New Zealand, and the third game, on Friday, June 5, will be played against Ukraine.
