Tri-County Orthopedics to Welcome First Joint Replacement Fellow in August 2027

Tri-County Orthopedics, the most preferred, recognized and awarded orthopedic practice in the region, recently launched its own Adult Joint Reconstruction Fellowship program. This one-year fellowship is accredited by the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and is designed to provide advanced training for the next generation of orthopedic joint replacement surgeons. The program will welcome its inaugural fellow in August 2027.

The fellowship is led by fellowship co-directors Dr. Paul Lombardi, president of Tri- County Orthopedics, and Dr. John Dundon, a joint replacement surgeon at Tri-County Orthopedics. It offers comprehensive, hands-on training in adult joint reconstruction at Tri-County Orthopedics, The Joint Replacement Institute and Morristown Medical Center.

The fellowship will provide:

  • Advanced training in primary and revision hip and knee replacement.
  • Experience with robotic-assisted and outpatient joint replacement surgery.
  • Direct mentorship from experienced adult reconstruction surgeons.
  • Exposure to the clinical, operational and leadership aspects of private orthopedic practice.

The program is designed to develop the next generation of orthopedic leaders by combining state-of-the-art surgical techniques, innovative technology and personalized mentorship. Fellows will gain the clinical knowledge, technical skills and professional foundation needed to excel in adult joint reconstruction while preparing for successful careers in modern orthopedic practice.

"Training the next generation of orthopedic surgeons is one of the most meaningful ways we can advance patient care," said Dr. Lombardi. "Our fellowship combines high-volume surgical experience, innovative technology and personalized mentorship to prepare fellows for successful careers in adult joint reconstruction. We are proud to launch this program and invest in the future of orthopedic excellence."

The fellowship will participate in the San Francisco Matching Program (SF Match).
