Phil F. Regains Confidence & Mobility After Hip Surgery With Dr. Paul Lombardi

Tri-County Orthopedics is proud to share the comeback story of Phil F., a lifelong competitive athlete who is preparing to return to the softball field after undergoing a total hip replacement with Dr. Paul Lombardi.

After decades of competitive sports, Phil began experiencing increasing hip pain, stiffness and loss of mobility as the cartilage in his hip wore away. By the middle of his most recent softball season, the discomfort had become impossible to ignore. After consulting with Dr. Lombardi, a fellowship-trained and board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Tri-County Orthopedics, it was determined that a total hip replacement offered the best opportunity for long-term relief and a return to activity.

“Phil’s experience reflects what we strive to achieve for every joint replacement patient,” said Dr. Lombardi. “Our goal is not only to relieve pain but to help patients return to living fully and moving comfortably again. Following surgery, Phil progressed steadily through rehabilitation and continues to stay committed to his recovery through regular gym workouts. He reports improved mobility, significantly reduced pain and renewed confidence in his movement. Phil is now looking ahead to the upcoming spring season, which will mark his 28th year playing competitive softball.
